As a veteran-owned and family-managed brewery, we’re honored to support the Texas Maritime Museum (TMM) in its mission to educate, curate, and preserve Texas’ maritime legacy. The Texas Maritime Museum, officially designated as the State Maritime Museum of Texas in 1987, has been a cornerstone of Rockport’s cultural landscape since its inception in the late 1970s during the Rockport Seafair Festival. Over the years, it has grown to host over 14,000 visitors annually, offering engaging exhibits and educational programs that delve into the state’s seafaring past. One of the museum’s key fundraising events is the annual Rockport Festival of Wine & Food. This vibrant festival brings together local businesses, artisans, and community members to celebrate the region’s culinary delights while supporting the museum’s ongoing efforts. Proceeds from the event directly contribute to the museum’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, and conservation projects. This year, we were thrilled to participate again in the festival, sharing our craft beers with attendees and engaging in the community spirit that defines Rockport. It was an honor to participate and pour our craft at this special event. We are proud to stand with the museum in its mission and are grateful to be a small part of such a meaningful local tradition. This year, we served 145 branded glasses and poured 47 gallons of beer to an enthusiastic crowd. One of the most rewarding parts of the weekend was leading three exclusive beer and snack pairings with 15 attendees each—45 guests total—who enjoyed a curated and interactive experience that helped showcase the creativity and community spirit behind our brewery. Thanks to our talented concert photographer, Cassandra, we captured some beautiful moments we’ll be sharing with the museum and on our channels. These images perfectly reflect the energy and excitement of the weekend. We’d also love to be considered in the future to provide canned beer for performers to enjoy after their sets or to take with them as a thank-you. We’d be happy to coordinate this in advance as part of next year’s vendor offerings. While the numbers were slightly lower than last year, the meaningful interactions, growing interest in our pairings, and community support made this event a true success. This rich and creamy brew, with a 5.2% ABV, is now on tap at Fulton’s, offering patrons a unique blend of traditional porter warmth and indulgent peanut butter notes. This partnership highlights the importance of small business collaboration in fostering a vibrant local community. Food Trucks and Flavorful Fun Here at Bay Area Brewing Company, we believe in “Making Rockport Brewtiful“, and that means supporting our local businesses and providing a great experience for our community. But let’s talk about one thing that’s been a bit tricky: Food Trucks. Picture this: you’re in a big city, and food trucks are everywhere, zipping around from event to event, bringing a variety of flavors to the streets. Sounds exciting, right? Well, in Rockport, things are a little different. Our food trucks tend to find a nice, cozy spot, settle down, and stay put. They become a reliable favorite for locals, kind of like the old corner diner. So, when we opened Bay Area Brewing Company 10 weeks ago, we had dreams of a rotating lineup of food trucks offering all sorts of adventurous eats. But here’s the rub: Rockport’s food scene and our steady stream of visitors make that a tough nut to crack. We quickly realized that asking food trucks to pop up at our brewery wasn’t fair to them. They need consistent foot traffic, and while our community is wonderfully supportive, it’s not quite the bustling city crowd a rotating food truck schedule demands. We didn’t want to disappoint the hardworking food truck owners who pour their hearts into their delicious creations. As retired Navy Chiefs, we’ve learned to adapt and overcome challenges, and this was no different. We listened, we learned, and we adjusted our sails. So, we’re thrilled to introduce our own small but mighty knockout Eats Menu! You can now enjoy our Buffalo Flavored Wings, 8” pizzas in 4 cheese or pepperoni, and warm fluffy pretzels in both Bavarian and sourdough styles. It’s a simple, satisfying selection designed to complement our brews perfectly. At Bay Area Brewing Company, our mission is to be locally inspired, bringing together Rockport locals and visitors alike in an enjoyable space.
